On May 2 from 09:30-14:30 UK Time, the Journalism Safety Research Network (JSRN) will host an online symposium to commemorate World Press Freedom Day 2025.
The focus of the symposium will be on AI and Journalism. This symposium will focus on issues concerning the transformative role of AI in journalism and content creation; the ethical challenges of AI in journalism; issues concerning AI and mis/disinformation and how newsrooms and journalism education are engaging with AI. The online symposium will provide a chance for researchers to come together to discuss the future of journalism. The symposium is aimed at understanding the issues that journalists face and devising solutions as to how these issues can be best tackled.
