CFOM’s project with Free Press Unlimited applies innovative data science and grass-roots expertise in safety research to make an advanced tool for monitoring and reporting attacks against journalists.

Journalism safety

CFOM hosts the Journalism Safety Research Network, a worldwide collaboration among scholars and experts which delivered action-oriented Recommendations to the UNESCO-led review of the UN Plan of Action in November 2022

CFOM are focusing on journalists in exile and the issues they face in exile, including safety concerns that  emphasise the need for a more systematic approach by policy makers to include the issue of exile into safety considerations.

Media self-Regulation Complaints handling

CFOM scrutinised and assessed the new complaints handling procedure of the Independent Press Standards Organisation (IPSO).

Initiative on impunity and rule of law

CFOM and the Centre for Law, Justice and Journalism worked together on a project split into two phases and a working conference to tackle impunity.
