The main celebration of World Press Freedom Day 2019 is jointly organized by UNESCO, the Government of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia and the African Union Commission in Addis Ababa (Ethiopia), from 1 to 3 May 2019. The main event (2-3 May) will take place at the African Union Headquarters, and pre-events will be organized by partners on 1 May.

At the 2nd Global Constructive Journalism Conference in Geneva on 18 January 2019, Jackie Harrison (CFOM) and Jacob Udo-Udo Jacob (RUNMAPP) participated alongside Caroline (Fondation Hirondelle, CFOM collaborative partner) in a panel on Journalism in Post-Conflict societies defending the importance of professional and accountable journalism.
